We have now been in the new theatre complex at Port Macquarie Base Hospital for 2 months. So far the new facility has been very impressive. The highlight will be the Tegris smart theatre system from Maquet which will allow multimedia routing between theatres and all the previous systems.

Orthopaedic surgery often uses live X-ray (called image intensification) and Arthroscopy (keyhole surgery) to complete complex operations. This system allows storage of all this information in the patient medical record. It also allows teaching in a lecture room using video cameras.

These allow the surgeon access to images during surgery.

Pendants allow the surgeon access to images during surgery.
